Life Lately

Wowzers.. it had been 20 days since my last post. I didn’t exactly plan to be MIA for so long, but sometimes life just fills up all the available space. Spring has been ultra-busy for us.. work has been demanding and everything else just sort of piled on at once. The kind of season where you blink and another week is gone.

Huxley's Bravery

On top of that, both Huxley and I had some surgeries done. We intentionally timed things so that my wife could take a spring break of her own and help care for us. I have to say.. it worked out better than expected. I’m still on the mend but Huxley has made a full recovery and handled everything like a little champ.
And by "everything" I mean a LOT in one day.. He was neutered, had a rather involved hernia repair, had three impacted baby teeth pulled, and got his ears professionally cleaned. Poor little guy.. he was groggy, wobbly, and just not himself for a bit. We felt terrible for him.. but he bounced back fast. Brave pup through and through. The vet even gave him an official Certificate Of Bravery signed by the doctor and staff. It’s proudly displayed on the fridge for now. Well deserved, Hux!

A Blooming Beauty

While I was off the blog, one of my Vanda orchids decided to bloom.. She opened up quietly but spectacularly.. a full bloom that I couldn’t keep to myself any longer. I’ll write a full orchid post soon but here she is in all her glory so you don’t have to wait another day:

A Silver Tease

We also managed to take a quick weekend trip to Delaware to see family. My niece is expecting her first baby and the shower was a great excuse to reconnect with folks we hadn’t seen in a long while. It had been since the fall that I’d seen my parents so there was plenty of catching up to do. They even gave us our Christmas and Easter gifts while we were there.. any guesses what we received, Silver Stackers?
Let’s just say.. it’s something I’ll be writing more about this week. But here’s a teaser photo to give you a hint:

For now, I’m headed out to mow the lawn while the weather is cool and the rain has pushed the pollen down a bit. Perfect mowing day. Also.. Huxley is WAY overdue for a bath and haircut. He looks like a little ragamuffin at the moment.. but that won’t last long.

Be back soon with more.. until then.. take care out there!

Thank you for swinging by my blog and checking out the post. Have a great day!
