Door and scooterWhen on my travels, I've always been a bit intrigued by the amount of blue doors I've spotted in towns and villages in other countries. It's not really something we see in England. But then I guess that most of the countries that have an abundance of blue doors are those with much warmer climates than the UK.

Gambian sunsetI'm lucky enough to have seen some fabulous sunsets (and sunrises) on my travels. Whilst I understand that it's a bit of a photographer's trope, they still make me want to pick up the camera.End of the daySadly, I have never really captured the true majesty of a really glorious sunset. I've got some reasonable shots but they never seem to live up to the real thing.

I found it interesting that somebody (or probably more than one somebody) had invested time creating these cairnsA small cairnI don't think I would have the patience, I think as soon as the first stone fell I would give up. So I'm very impressed that people can spend so long creating these ephemeral pieces of art and then walk away.

Hawker HunterWickenby Aerodrome is fast becoming one of my "happy places" . It holds special events every few months but on other days it is a working aerodrome. It has a Civil Aviation Authority licence for passenger flights and training. It also has a wonderful cafe.

Indian Air Force MirageI don't seem to get out as much with my camera as I used to, but I am kind of looking forward to Exercise Cobra Warrior in September. Cobra Warrior is held once or twice a year across a number of bases throughout the UK and other countries.

Into the curve #1Those people that read my Hive posts regularly will know how much I love visiting Cadwell. It's my happy place. If I need to relax and forget about things for a while, Cadwell is the place for me. Oddly enough, its not all about the photography anymore when I go, although I do enjoy that, but its the noise, the smell, the excitement.
