Im having a delightful breakfast on the balcony now but things have NOT been smooth so far. allow me to to ComPLANE: The plane was nearly 2 hours delayed because of weather conditions I think (and/or the resulting congestion on the runway) after which we endured a turbulent journey to split which was made much more bearable by sitting next to a really nice Doctor called Lizzie who I had a good laugh with and who let me join her and her friends in a taxi to split. ~ We had a very friendly taxi driver who told us all about the history of conflicts in Croatia and recommended ćevapčići (or Chavpa) which he said looks like a 'dogshit'. I was pretty hungry so that didn't put me off the idea, but annoyingly we went past loads of delicious looking late night food outlets and he kept reassuring me that I would get food near my apartment but when I got there NOTHING was open. No food anywhere, even in the bars and I didn't have anything in my bag. So I went to bed with an empty tummy last night.

Honestly Im a little shell-shocked to actually be going to Hivefest. Apart from the digital versions during the pandemic, the last time I attended was 2017 in Lisbon! (And amazingly I still manage to appear 3 times in this years promo video! ha). I had such a good time, and every year I would say to myself, man, I wish I could get to hivefest again. Thailand! wow, if only..... Krakow....so close, and yet so far...... MEXICO!? what a dream, I wish I could've made it. But no. its been 7 years and just a couple of strange VR experiences to keep my dreams alive...

Yo folks this is a song i wrote last year when i was feeling down in the dumps i chose it today because Ive got this chesty cough that I havn't been able to shake and I figured the croak might add to the bluesy nature of the song I tried to do a couple more takes but I kept getting the lyrics wrong and Im a bit low (not quite as low as can be) on vocal stamina at the moment so your stuck with the very first take! I usually muck about on the piano but this last year I was working away and I had a little acoustic guitar with me so I tried to practise it. As you can hear Im not exactly fluent but Ive been enjoying strumming away to myself so I thought Id share.

Its been a shocking couple of days in the Splinterverse as the team announced they were laying off 45% of their staff. I know....crazy right? Yes you heard it right. We have finally received the first draft of Hive's very own feature film script thanks to the epic efforts of @killerwot and @thedeltron at @filmmaking4hive . Its taken me a few days to get round to it because its been a crazy week (....and a crazy summer if Im honest) but I have JUST read through for the very first time and I figured now would be a good moment to scribble down my first impressions.
