Blight Street
On a lark a dare a bet
Down the street he did step.
A chance at life to gain
no more worries only gains.
With head held high, and heart so strong
what he thought could go wrong.
Half a mile to fame and riches,
All the gold and all the bitches.
Half way there he smiled so bright,
then he had a terrible fright.
A sound so loud the ground did shake,
his heart it felt was on high bake.
Clomp clomp clomp, and scratch and scrape.
What on earth could that sound make
He paused his walk and turned around,
to see if he could find the sound
His heart did skip a beat,
his feet stood frozen to the street
The street ahead in lights was bright,
but to the rear dark as night
As he stood and stared with eyes of fear,
A flash of light and then words to hear
"A bet you took, your soul you sold,
you bragged and talked so loud and bold"
"Now your soul he will take,
you head is mine for me to make."
"No more lack of eyes and ears,
with your head to see and hear."
He turned around and ran so fast,
hoping that the lights would last.
The lights were on and they were bright,
to end his life on this rare night.
As he ran on in to the night,
he felt a wire strong and tight.
His heart was strong,
His head was held high.
As the horseman plucked it from the air.
For his body to wear.
I did not have a story, but that small poem popped in my head.
Trick or treat
I almost forgot that, thank the ehadless horseman for edits
