Amphilophus citrinellus, or better known as Midas cichlid. This fish comes from fresh waters in Central America, especially lakes in Nicaragua. The characteristic of the Amphilophus citrinellus that I photographed is its large and stocky body, with a striking yellowish-white color and a prominent head shape. Body color can vary greatly, from dark gray, to bright orange, to plain white as seen on this individual. These colors are often the result of selection in captivity, although some also occur naturally.
