Well, this girl have more confidence than me.
Photo template from Canva. Most of us in the family are introverts. We don't socialize that much, we don't want to be on the spotlight, and we're not fond of performing in front of the crowd though we know we have such talent. Shyness runs in the blood, but this girl has broken the records.
Even if I'm her mother, I once thought that she would be like us. Well, she lives under my parents' and siblings' supervision because I'm working in the city, the same surroundings where I grow up with and the same upbringing. It's not that I don't believe in my child's abilities. I just don't want to place expectations that put her under pressure while growing up. I don't want her to grow up like us as much as possible. I want the best for her, at the same time, I want her to enjoy her childhood.
Right now, I got surprised by her everytime I got updates from home. They would tell me that my daughter would want to join the Girl Scout camping, fictional character dress-ups, join school parties, and other school related stuffs. Actually, that's a good thing, at least she likes to explore at her young age and willing experience new things without hesitating because she's shy or doubtful with her skills. And yes, we have the opposite attitude. If there are similarities with our personalities, that would be our kindness, helpfulness, a caring nature, and also, being sensitive to the mood.
At this time, I got news from my Mom that she would will join their school's team in an enter-schools Pop Dance Competition. Which means, she will not just perform in her school but will compete with the other schools within the town.
Take note, I was only informed. I wasn't asked for permission and honestly, she doesn't need one. She got my full support with that. π
I was just a bit sad that I missed another moment in her life because I couldn't watch her perform on that day. I have classes and work during the performance. However, she's still the happiest on that day because she did her best and their team won as the first place in the competition. Gladly, the other parents are kind to take pictures and videos of her, then they sent it to me. My Mom doesn't have a phone and even if she have one, she doesn't know how to use it since she has poor eyesight.
During their Elementary Day, she also happily performed together with her classmates. I asked my sister to take pictures of her because they watched the dance. Looking at her, my heart melts as the idea that she is growing up faster hits me. Give it a few years and she'll be officially a lady, she'll be seeing the true face of the world sooner or later then. When we're together, people even might mistake us as sisters instead, and some wouldn't believe that she's daughter. Even if that's a compliment, I'm proud to say that this little lady came out of me. No shame with that. She's brilliant and full with talents, and I love her, so why would I?
Motherhood is hard and difficult as you are responsible for one's life that you made. But, there's joy to that, when you can witness how they grow up well as time goes by. πΏπ·
I'm hoping for the best as always for us all mothers. By the way, to all mothers here in Hive, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
