The last time i want to that coffee shop right at the beginning of this year. Almost everywhere in town, coffee shops were pack with people because it was a holiday for everyone, even students. It was a long break to welcome the even semester.
Aren't coffee shops suppose to be deserted on New Year's? Holidays are suppose to be about everyone stay home or take their kids to tourist attractions. But everything has change now. In this economy, coffee shops have become a place where everyone gathers because everywhere is expensive.
It remind me of a friend's coffee shop. It wasn't a popular coffee shop because it's not commercial. In fact, there weren't any snacks you can order there because they only sell coffee. Little weird, right? But that's the concept my friend chose, they run a roastery business and will keep it that way to maintain their customers.
The coffee shop is tuck away in a small alley, so it's a bit difficult for cars to park. They don't even have a sign, but I still remember the name: Circle Concordia Coffee.
It's been so long since I've been here, and everything has change in every way. I still remember coming here often get bitten by mosquitoes because of the abundance of plants. They sold both coffee and plants, as the owner of this coffee shop really loved plants and coffee is a perfect combination.
Now it's very modern and aesthetic, even like an omakase coffee shop where I can request the barista to make a coffee that perfectly suits what he wants to convey to customers. So I was made a V60 coffee with natural beans from Mandailing Aek Gorsing, which is famous for its very sour taste.
Although I saw that those were the last beans he would give me because they were all gone. It became a customer favorite, and it might take a while for the beans to be restocked, but I was very lucky that time.
The aroma was very distinctive, not your average coffee, and it was very special. There's nothing better than a natural V60... with the vibe of a cafe with no one but me, my husband, and the barista. It felt like drinking coffee at home and someone made it for me.
I started the year very well this time... with the best coffee of the year?

I'm just a woman who wants to write whatever's on my mind. I really enjoy cooking, occasionally traveling, and doing whatever I like. I want to live like a bird flying freely in nature. But I know I'm only human. So, I can only write freely like a bird that can fly with its two wings.
