It so much fun end to the year, cap off with a short vacation to Bangkok to watch this year's SEA Games in Thailand. Although it so ultimately postponed due to the death of Queen Sirikit last October, but the event going a success, despite the ongoing mourning period.
I feel like I almost went crazy, having already bought tickets in early October, planning this trip to watch the SEA Games. However, it went perfectly, and I even got to enjoy public transportation, a mode rarely seen by tourists.
I call it riding a "going merry" boat, like in the anime "One Piece." But in real life, riding the Saen Saep Boat was truly enchanting. The route is quite long, from Bang Kapi to Pratunam Pier, with an estimated one-hour journey without traffic. Huh? Without traffic? This is a canal where only government-managed boats operate.
We staying in the Ramkamhaeng district it's very close to the Hua Mak Indoor Stadium where volleyball matches are held, and I often to Nimibutr in the Pratunam area to watch basketball games. So, taking a boat like this is the best way to avoid traffic jam in everywhere in Bangkook and is even the most visible option in terms of price and estimate time. Although it can sometimes be a bit crowded, it's still a bit cramped.
Almost all Bangkok residents living in the Wat Sri Bunruang Watergate area use this boat for transportation. The boat running every 10 minutes, with the last trip at 8.00 PM. So make sure you don't leave to late, LOL.
Here, i will show you the prices and boat routes, just in case you need this in the future when traveling to Bangkok. Bangkok is currently bustling with tourists. Seriously... This city is a dream, and I've been here 13 times and keep wanting to go again :D
