Glimpse of life2 0 2 5 watercolors on paperHello all dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing an urban subject painted in large format watercolor. As you can see it is a glimpse seen from under an ancient round archway depicting a scene of life in an old village. I completely imagined the painting in order to express myself with freer brushstrokes untethered from preordained and precise aesthetic canons. So I played a lot with colors and brushstrokes to achieve an animated scene in the warm spring sunlight.
Place of peace2 0 2 5 watercolors on paperHello everyone Hivers and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a landscape inspired by Romanticism, a subject I am discussing at school with my pupils. The love of nature is a staple of Romantic painters and I wanted to create a subject that interprets their strong feelings towards it. So I thought of representing a pond where contemplation and peace hover. I also included some remnants of ancient architecture such as a keep that stands out amidst nature.
Rays of colors on the sea2 0 2 5 watercolors on paperHello everyone dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am returning to share the subject I love most, the seascape. I am preparing my own exhibition dedicated to l sea so I am working on these subjects in different style solutions. The one I am sharing today is a seascape that features a series of colorful rays on the horizon and stylized sailboats in the foreground. I played with the geometries of the sky that find form in the colored rays and the purple boats in the foreground that serve to visually distance the background. I wanted to depict a dynamism of the landscape with lines-color exploding on the sea to give the landscape a new look.
Presences in the moonlight2 0 2 5 watercolors on paperHello everyone dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a watercolor depicting a scene between the surreal and the metaphysical. I conceived a dreamlike composition where the night light determined by the moon is the protagonist. The ancient elements I have included remind us of past civilizations and act as silent reminders of our memories. I wanted to represent the past surfacing like a dream illuminated by the moonlight in the fluid sky.
Towards the valleys2 0 2 5 watercolors on paperHello everyone dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I'm sharing a large format watercolor depicting a softly colored landscape. I wanted to depict a scene of stillness where the colors of the sky fade softly. The viewer's eye lingers on the houses in the foreground, but you can turn your vision away to the right where the valleys fade into the horizon. I have tried to depict a landscape where the peace and tranquility of the place shines through. I hope you like it, I leave you the steps of the creative process and my best regards.
Ancient Romanesque building systems2 0 2 5 watercolors on paperHello all dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I present a very special watercolor painting namely a glimpse of a Romanesque cathedral in which I have highlighted ancient construction techniques. As you can see from the details, in this 13th century cathedral, they used tuff blocks to build the outer walls. The splay of the large window is very deep with a small stained glass window at the bottom. This poor interior lighting is very common in Romanesque churches. The upper part below the tiled roof line shows us some clay brick arches with a beehive lattice that lets air pass through as a roof gap. Another characteristic part is the brick arches that frame on the facade with a stone closing at the bottom.
