El pasado jueves, 20 de marzo, se cumplieron los primeros 5 años de la blockchain que nos ha unido a todos nosotros. Además, nos ha llevado de la mano a conocer más a fondo las criptomonedas, la tecnología blockchain y, lo más importante, la descentralización. Durante estos años, hemos dado a conocer su importancia y lo lejos que se puede llegar cuando una comunidad se junta para tomar las mejores decisiones en beneficio de la mayoría, permitiéndole alcanzar metas aún mayores.
Puede que mis primeras palabras resulten un poco complejas si eres nuevo en Hive. Incluso yo llegué un par de semanas después de esta importante fecha. Sin embargo, la comunidad de Hive, que antes se llamaba "la comunidad de Steemit" por el nombre de la cadena anterior, vivió momentos muy oscuros en los que sus fondos y, sobre todo, su libertad se vieron muy comprometidos.
No conozco la historia completa de primera mano, como dije anteriormente, yo no estuve allí. Pero por los que sí lo vivieron, supe que fueron momentos muy angustiantes, especialmente para los Witness. Además, la posibilidad de una pandemia global no mejoraba el panorama.
Lo bueno, y lo importante, es que se superó la adversidad y desde entonces nuestra blockchain no ha hecho más que crecer exponencialmente. Hemos vivido y sobrevivido a muchas caídas de mercado y a muchos cambios en el mundo. El Salvador se convirtió en un país Bitcoin y luego dejó de serlo (por temas económicos, aunque el presidente asegura que es temporal). Estados Unidos odiaba las criptomonedas y hoy en día ha activado una reserva de Bitcoin y otras criptomonedas.
El mundo ha cambiado mucho, al igual que nosotros, que hemos logrado mejorar como blockchain. Hemos crecido en cantidad de usuarios y productos como

@distriator Hoy en día estamos presentes en muchos más países, como con la reciente fundación de la comunidad de Hive España.
También hemos crecido personalmente. En mi caso, lo que yo era antes de conocer Hive no se parece en nada a lo que soy hoy. He crecido personal y profesionalmente gracias a esta increíble blockchain. Pasé de solo escribir algunos posts a ser una de sus representantes, asistir a eventos y conocer a mucha gente. He aprendido muchísimo y me he conocido mucho más, porque me ha permitido darme cuenta de todo lo que soy capaz y explotarlo de una manera adecuada.
Hemos sido una comunidad muy resiliente, lo cual nos ha permitido aprender de nuestros errores y mejorar cada vez más. Espero que tengamos muchos lustros más para seguir creciendo, mejorando y haciendo más cosas en pro de Hive.

Last Thursday, March 20th, marked the first 5 years of the blockchain that has united us all. Furthermore, it has guided us to delve deeper into cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and, most importantly, decentralization. Throughout these years, we have highlighted its importance and the great lengths that can be achieved when a community comes together to make the best decisions for the majority, allowing it to reach even greater heights.
My opening words might seem a bit complex if you're new to Hive. Even I arrived a couple of weeks after this significant date. However, the Hive community, formerly known as the "Steemit community" after the previous chain's name, experienced very dark times when their funds and, above all, their freedom were severely compromised.
I don't know the whole story firsthand; as I said before, I wasn't there. But from those who did live through it, I learned that they were very distressing moments, especially for the Witnesses. Moreover, the looming possibility of a global pandemic didn't improve the outlook.
The good thing, and the important thing, is that they overcame adversity, and since then, our blockchain has only grown exponentially. We have lived through and survived many market downturns and many changes in the world. El Salvador became a Bitcoin country and then stopped being one (due to economic issues, although the president assures it's temporary). The United States used to hate cryptocurrencies, and today they have activated a reserve of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
The world has changed a lot, and so have we, as we have managed to improve as a blockchain. We have grown in the number of users and products like

@distriator Today, we are present in many more countries, such as with the recent founding of the Hive Spain community.
We have also grown personally. In my case, what I was before knowing Hive is nothing like what I am today. I have grown personally and professionally thanks to this incredible blockchain. I went from just writing some posts to being one of its representatives, attending events, and meeting many people. I have learned a great deal and have gotten to know myself much better, because it has allowed me to realize all that I am capable of and to exploit it in an appropriate way.
We have been a very resilient community, which has allowed us to learn from our mistakes and improve more and more. I hope we have many more lustrums to continue growing, improving, and doing more things in favor of Hive.
