To feel motivated...I usually plan. I take a piece of paper, put in "Goal for Today" at the center and plan how to do it. So I draw branches, putting the subject to study for and the time when I should start and estimated time to complete. Then I take the reading material...only that reading material (I am a law student so I have notebooks and printouts and books...I just take the book) and put it aside. Then I go back to the paper, draw another branch and write the food I might need or want to eat (must set a time for this....sometimes, it takes us 20 minutes to decide what to eat). Back to the paper, I write what I can do later as a reward (this needs a brain training...our brains have the tendency to fool us and make us give in to the distractions and temptations). Reward could be eating out (in my case a can of beer or just an episode of Extraordinary Attorney Woo in Netflix)
