After being out commision for a week due to my back having issues, I am playing catch up on my routine.Come to learn that helping my grandfather unclog a kitchen sink with a plunger was probably not the best thing for my lumbar degeneration. I was not in good shape to the extent that I was using a cane to get around. It sure feels weird doing that in my late 30s but it is what it is.
Due to the cold, decided to check out the Rambler gym indoor track. Here is a panoramic photo. This time I tried something different by using the Running Coach option on my Galaxy Watch. Let's just say it didn't go quite as planned.
Yesterday, I went to Rambler Track to finally get a proper VO₂ max reading via my Galaxy Watch7.VO2 max is your maximum oxygen intake during exercise. It's measured in mililiters of oxygen per kilogram of body mass per minute (ml/kg/min) /O2 max is a common measure of cardiorespiratory (heart and lung) health and endurance. A higher number is better.
Yesterday was an easy run / jog but mostly jog. Let's just say I took the scenic route and sometimes you just gotta stop and take it in.There is a ledge in the below picture which I strongly contomplated climbing up for a photo opportunity. My better judgment kicked in as I was in a relatively remote section of the track and there was nobody around in the event I got hurt. I will take that picture yet but only when I can have someone there with me for safety.
Yesterday, I went running at my local park and decided to do some interval training around the baseball / softball field hence the Field of Dreams reference. My goal was to sprint and lap and then jog a lap. This proved to be much more ambitious than I had surmised as I was left fairly winded before I would even reach the last corner towards the curved section. During the run, I felt my times were fairly mediocre in terms of pace. As it would turn out, I would end up running my fastest 5k that I have tracked on my Galaxy Watch so there's that which is nice.
This is gonna be a quick twofer. I went running last Tuesday but missed last week so picked it back up yesterday. This time I went running at a nearby Military Treatment Facility (MTF) track. On the Thursay before last week, I had went on a pretty decent distance run. At first, my mind didn't feel up for it and I felt as though I would bail after a few miles but, once I got going, I just kept going ending putting in 7 miles during the session.
