Have any of you ever read or watched 13 Reasons why?

This is not an advertisement and I do not condone bullying.
I am not through the entire series yet but I have read the book...

I would say that the book is better but while watching the series containing the raw emotion and even the entire sub plot, I have come to realise how many thing I missed while reading the book.

For those of you who have never heard of the series, let me fill you in...

The story is about Hannah, your typical freshman.
A girl that moved to a different town to get away from the bad kids in her school and area.
Not thinking that it might be like that everywhere.

Throughout the series, Hannah has been tortured by the kids in her school, not that she is entirely different but no one deserves to be treated like that.
Not Hannah,
Not anyone...

If you think you're up to it, read it. Or watch it...
I won't spoil anymore...

My only thought on it is that it is heart breaking.
Kids torture each other.
They break each other down.
They ruin a child's train of thought and some of these kids are too scared to talk about it.
Maybe even too ashamed?

While growing up, when we even heard of someone talking about suicide we'd KNOW they were kidding, because it just wasn't the norm.
We were there for each other.
We supported each other and we certainly did not think that our friends would not turn up the next day.
We knew they would...

That is not the case in the era will live in now.
It may seem like the easy way out.
Parents, shame, we don't mean to blame you always...
But you do work the entire day and when coming home, you just assume your children's homework is done and they're ready for bed...

Not a lot of parents take the time to listen...
They miss it.
They miss the point of having kids.
They miss their kids growing up...
They miss the signs...

This series is terrible.
It had made me think...
A LOT!

Sometimes children can cruel...
Sometimes our own lives seem more important...
Sometimes we run out of answers and feel like there is nothing left...

We should be there for our children,
parents...
teachers...
friends...

And if you are feeling lonely today,
phone someone,
talk to someone,
speak your mind...

You are not alone...
You never are...

Seek help...
