I wanted to share one of the films that I've watch which is the Alita: Battle Angel, based on the Japanese manga Battle Angel Alita (1993), and I have to say, it was an amazing experience. The movie is about a cyborg girl named Alita who wakes up with no memory of her past. Dr. Ido, a kind scientist, finds her and helps her adjust to life in Iron City. But as she starts to remember who she is, she realizes she was built for battle. The action scenes were insane! Alita’s fighting style was super fast and smooth, making every battle exciting to watch. I felt inspired by her determination and strength. It made me think about martial arts and how cool it would be to learn something like kickboxing or jiu-jitsu. I remembered I attended a few lessons of taekwondo in my high school days but didn't go further with it.
One of my favorite scenes was when Alita enters the Motorball race competition. The way she dodges attacks and takes down opponents while skating at high speed was awesome! It felt like watching a futuristic gladiator match. Another intense moment was when she fought Grewishka, the huge, terrifying cyborg. Even though she was much smaller, she never backed down. However, some of the fights were really brutal, and I found myself wincing at the damage she took. It made me realize how harsh and dangerous fighting can be, even if it looks cool on screen.
I really loved the way Alita was portrayed. Rosa Salazar did an incredible job bringing her to life, making her feel both powerful and emotional. Dr. Ido, played by Christoph Waltz, was another great character. He acted like a father to Alita, always trying to protect her. The relationship between them was one of the best parts of the movie. On the other hand, I wasn’t a big fan of the romance between Alita and Hugo. It felt a little rushed, and I think the movie could have focused more on Alita’s journey instead.
Overall, The film was an awesome movie that left a strong impression on me. It made me think about strength, identity, and never giving up. The visuals were stunning, the action was exciting, and Alita’s character was inspiring. Even though some parts could have been better, I still really enjoyed it. If you love sci-fi, action, or just a good story about self-discovery, I definitely recommend watching this movie!
