Se está jugando la 3.ª edición de la Liga Élite del Béisbol Cubano. Un torneo con un nombre mal puesto. Hasta las siglas se ven feas en las pancartas publicitarias. Lo que pasa es que la calidad con que se juega apenas alcanza para un café.
Mis Avispas de Santiago de Cuba, lograron clasificarse a esta competición. Por tanto, olviden lo que he dicho sobre calidad, y entiendan, por favor, que mi deber como fan es apoyar a mis bichos hasta el final.
El equipo está bateando muchísimo. Los jonrones están saliendo como si se tratara de sacar la mano para saludar. Pero adivinen, perdieron sus dos primeros partidos de la temporada.

Dos derrotas en líneas me parecieron un mal augurio. En los siguientes dos juegos, la madriguera se revolvió. Solo pararon de hacer carreras cuando los Alazanes de Granma se rindieron.
La defensa ha empezado como un colador. Ha manchado la labor de los lanzadores, a tal punto, de hacer creer que ha sido muy mala, a quien no haya visto o al menos escuchado los partidos por radio.
Sé que a medida que avancen la temporada, estas dificultades se convertirán en menores. Quizás con el pitcheo no sea así, pues tradicionalmente, la efectividad disminuye al aumentar la fatiga.
Dato curioso: Cinco jonrones en un mismo juego, y aun así caímos derrotados. ¡Qué pena! Son cosas que le calientan la sangre a cualquiera. Pero ya estoy acostumbrado a recibir este tipo de derrotas épicas.
