Art and Creativity Journal: Last Week I Painted — Week Eight, 2026

By @alchemystones2/24/2026hive-148441

Week eight was an extremely modest week, as far as painting work is concerned, but continuing on with creating this 2026 "Work Catalog." These are simple photos of the stones just painted, shown in "raw" format, before they get their protective finish coat.

I'm using the Danish numbering system for weeks that I grew up with, which means weeks start on Monday and end on Sunday. As much as anything, the purpose of these posts is to create a "work catalog" of sorts.

Small and Bright:

I realized that I had recently gathered quite a few smaller pale stones in very smooth paintable condition, so I decided to work on a few of these.

This one is nice and bright with just a single circle of black as a point of contrast. The pink will light up a bit more when the finish coat is applied.

Black and Pink:

A bit of a variation on the above, except with a lot more contrast. Both of these will likely end up in my wife's "give to clients" box.

Petite Altar Set:

While putting away stones from my recent beach trips, I noticed that there were four small stones that were very similar as to sizes and shapes, and they actually seemed like they belonged together.

Because sets are always popular at festivals and events, I decided to turn them into a small Altar Set. These seem to be particularly popular when we attend festivals at spiritual centers... more towards the woo-woo end of the spectrum.

Otherwise...

Most of the limited time I had available to focus on things relating to my artwork were given to the ongoing migration of existing stock from various sales venues to Etsy, and to making sure that all the items currently listed on Etsy in fact were available for sale.

Sad as it may sound, we do lose quite a few stones to theft at events, especially big holiday fairs.

Secondly, a lot of time is still going into the convoluted process of migrating a website to a new domain. Although my wife is mostly the web wizard in that context, updating content and writing new content largely falls to me, while she takes care of the back end part of the process.

That part is turning out to be a pain in the rear, as GoDaddy and BlueHost do not like talking to each other. Bottom line, all these "cheap domain registration" services are only cheap because they are counting on upselling you all manners of their own coding tools... leaving people who do "the old-fashioned thing" with WordPress themes pretty much blowing in the wind.

This, too, shall pass.

Thank You!
