A lo largo de los años, en las películas de terror, los ataques de animales cobraron gran protagonismo a la hora de generar atmosferas escalofriantes como por ejemplo, los cocodrilos, pirañas, perros, etc... Pero, sin duda alguna, los que se llevan el premio mayor, en cuanto a popularidad se refiere, son los tiburones, tanto así, que tienen su propio sub género dentro del horror.
El día de hoy, les traigo una película de una hora y media del año 2022 sobre estos animales tan aterradores pero que causan menos muertes al año que un mosquito pero que, por alguna razón, son los favoritos para hacer películas del sub genero de ataques de animales. Esta producción del Reino Unido , bajo la dirección de James Nunn, se llama Mar de sangre o Gran tiburón blanco.
Over the years, animal attacks have taken center stage in horror films, creating chilling atmospheres. These include crocodiles, piranhas, dogs, and so on. But, without a doubt, sharks take the cake in terms of popularity, so much so that they have their own subgenre within horror.
Today, I'm bringing you a one-and-a-half-hour film from 2022 about these terrifying animals, which cause fewer deaths per year than a mosquito, yet, for some reason, are a favorite for animal attack films. This UK production, directed by James Nunn, is called Sea of Blood or Great White Shark.

Como toda película de tiburones, realmente no tiene nada original que ofrecer. Un grupo de adolescentes, de vacaciones, que toman decisión equivocada tras decisión equivocada a pesar de tener todas las banderas rojas 🚩 posibles frente a sus narices. Si hay algo que resalta mucho en todas estas películas es el poco o nulo sentido común que sus protagonistas poseen pero no me quejo después de todo, sin este factor no existirían este tipo de films.
Like any shark movie, it really has nothing original to offer. A group of teenagers on vacation who make wrong decision after wrong decision despite having every possible red flag 🚩 right in front of them. If there's one thing that stands out in all these movies, it's the little to no common sense their protagonists possess, but I'm not complaining after all; without it, these types of films wouldn't exist.

Hay películas de este tipo que son muy buenas por el peso emocional que se da a la trama como conflictos internos entre los personajes pero acá, el conflicto que se presenta es tan vacío que no logra conmover ni un poco al espectador. No hay factor emotivo, solo mordidas y más mordidas que se buscaron un grupo de adolescentes imprudentes sin sentido común alguno.
No todo es malo, el personaje que destaco mucho es el de Holly Hearl, la voz de la razón en todo momento entre tanta cabeza vacía y la única que se mantiene estoica en todo momento. Otra en su lugar los hubiera tirado a las fauces del tiburón apenas tuviera oportunidad. Si bien, es un buen personaje, siento que pudo explotarse aun más pero quede conforme con ella aunque la actuación no fue de las mejores, creo eso influyó mucho en su poco traspaso de la pantalla.
There are films of this type that are very good because of the emotional weight given to the plot, such as the internal conflicts between the characters, but here, the conflict presented is so empty that it fails to move the viewer in the slightest. There's no emotional element, just backbiting and backbiting by a group of reckless teenagers with no common sense whatsoever.
Not everything is bad. The character I particularly stand out is Holly Hearl, the voice of reason at all times among so many empty-headed people and the only one who remains stoic throughout. Someone else in her place would have thrown them into the shark's jaws as soon as they had the chance. While she's a good character, I feel she could have been exploited even more, but I'm happy with her, even though her performance wasn't her best. I think that greatly influenced her lack of screen time.

¿Es una película mala? Si, pero, para pasar el rato esta bien y no creo deje impronta en el mundo del cine pero ¡ojo! No todo es malo. El final dentro de todo, es bueno y te deja un panorama desolador pero suena a final abierto ¿habrá segunda parte? No creo pero, si que te deja pensando , con la pregunta revoloteando por tu cabeza ¿y ahora qué?
Lo ultimo a resaltar es el CGI que es muy caricaturesco. Todo el miedo que había generado el tiburón se fue por la borda cuando mostraron su CGI. Paso de dar miedo a risa de lo caricaturesco que lucia.
Si quieres pasar el rato ¡esta es tu película! No busques originalidad porque no la hay pero es disfrutable. Le doy un 5 de 10 ¡saludos!
Is it a bad movie? Yes, but it's fine to pass the time, and I don't think it will leave a mark on the film world. But beware! Not everything is bad. The ending is good and leaves you with a bleak outlook, but it sounds like an open ending. Will there be a sequel? I don't think so, but it does leave you thinking, with the question hovering in your head: What now?
The last thing worth mentioning is the CGI, which is very cartoonish. All the fear the shark had generated went out the window when they showed its CGI. It went from being scary to being laughable because of how cartoonish it looked.
If you want to have a good time, this is your movie! Don't look for originality because it isn't there, but it is enjoyable. I give it a 5 out of 10. Cheers!
