I had an interesting conversation recently with a hive user I hadn't talked to in years, it was interesting for a few reasons.
First off he mentioned he had re-invested back into hive and he seemed happy to have been able to do it at this price point, which I told him I thought was a great time and that I wish I could buy more myself. He had delegated to a project of mine so he was wondering about something, so we talked a bit more about hive, the recent hardfork, etc.
He also mentioned after a bit that hive was his only investment. While this may not be the best idea, who am I to tell him otherwise with most of my crypto being in hive/zing. He went on to mention that he felt he needed to put that money back into hive rather than other crypto because if it wasn't for hive then he wouldn't ever have found out about crypto. He felt a sense of gratitude towards hive and also knew that it's a safe place for his funds and that he understood the network wasn't going to go anywhere.
Compared to other crypto it's easy to stress about it, price went up, some good/bad news popping up every day, exchanges luring you in with APR's or margin trade gambling, etc. He'd constantly wonder if he should act or not, as all the value would be there liquid and could be traded off at any time thus being a bit more stressful. With hive you choose to stake it up and it's sort of a "hassle" to unstake it as it takes 3 months, so you're better off just putting it to good use somehow and "forgetting about it" until things turn around drastically or something bigger happens that may make him wanna sell some off.
I kind of understand that, if it wasn't for hive I probably would've lost a lot of my crypto value to trading or exchange hacks or whatever other minefields that've happened over the years in this space. Not saying I'm irresponsible with money but hive kind of takes away that burden/stress when you are committed and have made a decision.
I also really appreciated that he thought of hive and wanted to come back here, what was crazy was that he was also currently "blacklisted" by hivewatchers for some things he admitted he had used AI to assist him with posts, but even so decided to invest - which is kind of rare to see. As most abusers always take the stance that it's them "vs" everyone else, they did nothing wrong, the downvoters/projects/network/everyone else is in the wrong. He instead understood that he had broken some of the community rules and that he had to face the consequences but that it meant that hive was "working".
Anyway, there's many things I'm grateful for hive for, probably too many to count.
Currently I've been feeling a bit mentally fatigued/overwhelmed with workload so trying to take a little bit of a break to hopefully come back stronger later. Some things have gotten delayed due to this but it should be fine, we're still in hibernation mode I suppose so it's okay if some parts of the network are a bit delayed in this sleeping beast.
Listening to @theycallmedan's latest post also got me some hype back recently so that was nice to listen to and see him post again. I agree with a lot of the stuff he says and how he thinks of things around here and am glad for hive to have such investors and hopefully many more similar ones in the future along with some that have always been here and are now able to get in similar stake-wise positions now due to market conditions. Looking forward to see who the big stakeholders are in the next few years and what they're up to!
Thanks for reading.
