It's my daughters 19th Birthday tomorrow! Some thoughts, reflections, and wishes from a distant Dad.

Firstly, many happy returns love xx wishing you an awesome day today and some big nights out in the near future xx 😘
Nine years ago I left the UK to seek sunshine and the return of a more positive outlook to life in general. With the expected bumps in the road, this experience has turned out to be largely positive overall, and I'm happy to living away from the doom and gloom I remember lurking over my head so often back then. Tuning in a couple times a week to GB News, I feel little would have changed for the better if I did return, It would be nice to be seeing the lady in the photo a little more though.
In the summer of 2024 my daughter made a week long trip to Mallorca and we spend the week catching up and relaxing. I'd hoped that following my move I'd be seeing her at least once a year but this hasn't quite been the case - now she is an adult though and I'm expecting at least a visit a year, especially if I'm contributing!
Magaluf, despite it's rather poor (and mostly fair) reputation, does have at least on attraction to make you think 'oh really, that's pretty cool', and below is a photo from last year of my daughter at the
Shallow Sun club.

DJs, Bali beds, drinks, nothing special there. But what about the largest glass-bottomed pool in Europe? And a sea view as well, nice!
My Daugher is a good swimmer and so I was pretty happy to hear a group of Dutch men challenge themselves and us to a race whilst we relaxed by the pool last year. I continued relaxing, mumbling something about a knackered kidney, but my Daughter fancied her chances and was beaten by only one really powerful looking guy / strong swimmer - impressive!
We also found some time to do some Paddleboarding - a hobby I've picked up whilst living here and now my most favourite thing to do on a long sunny day. Paddleboarding got the thumbs up (below) but it's not something you can learn in a day - all the more reason to plan for more trips 😄

The horizon is wonky and my hair is all over the place but I don't care as this is the most recent photo we have together. Not a bad view from Dad's balcony is it?!

With me being out of work at present there are more opportunities for my Daughter (and a friend if she wishes) to come and visit. We will chat on video tomorrow and I'm sure holidays will be amongst the topics discussed as well as Family, and in particular my Mother who increasingly struggling with her memory. We visited mum last year and I hope this will happen again in the summer - photos have become more important to her in recent times and I'd like at least one image of the three of us to frame and stick on the wall in her apartment.
Well my love, I'll chat to you tomorrow - hope your card arrives on time!
