Hello everyone, today I would like to show you how to make a cord wrap from fabric scraps. I know most of us can’t count the number of times we’ve bought new laptop chargers, phone chargers and other chargers just because they keep on getting entangled and breaking. I’m also sure we can’t count the number of times we’ve tripped over our cords. We don’t pay attention because we end up sustaining no injuries(thankfully) but it’s about high time we paid attention before the worse happened.
Also, using fabric scraps help us to protect the environment by reducing the amount of waste we produce from sewing.
Materials I used:
- Fabric Scraps
- Measuring tape
- Piece of chalk
- A pair of scissors
- Glue gun
- Fabric Stiffener(Optional)
- Button
- Thread and needle
**Step 1**
I cut a rough rectangular shape from the fabric scraps.
Step 2
I measured about 1.5 inches at the bottom right starting from the end.I then joined the marked point to the upper right corner.I now folded the right part onto the marked line and ironed it. I repeated the same process for the left side.
Step 3
To prevent the fabric from fraying or unraveling, you can just sew the edges but I used a fabric stiffener so the result becomes thick.
I cut a piece of fabric stiffener equal to the size of the end and stiffened it by putting it on it, folding and ironing.
I did the same to the top side.
Step 4
To get them together, I used a glue gun to glue all the sides and ironed it.
Step 5
I used a thread and needle to sew the button on it at the larger end and made a hole in which the button fits at the smaller end
The result.

I really enjoyed making this and I hope you like it.
Thank you for your time.
