I come with my camera to this place once a year. There are many people who meet here with me to take photos or, like me, to take them. Everyone that passes by me automatically becomes photographic subjects. In the past I would have avoided that kind of duty and sneaked away to take my long exposures taking advantage of the views, the calm of the sea and the rocks and old pillars that protrude from the sea. But not anymore. Many well-known people come and many new people too, I no longer escape this duty. I go to the strip of sand, which is where I like the most, so that those people parade in front of me, wetting their feet, waving their dresses, throwing their hair and their gazes into the air and towards me. And I, sitting in the wet sand on the other side, shooting incessantly, enjoying the view and the moment.

There are koi carp in this pond, I swear, but my target was right on the edge, Naelis, one of the star models that afternoon. She had to jump the barrier, with a lot of style and very gracefully, I must say. She sat there waiting for me to go all the way around the pond until I was on the other side, looking for the reflection of her figure in the calm waters. She was somewhat afraid of the eager carps that came to see if she had anything to offer them, but obviously the only thing she had that afternoon was her presence and her style as a budding model, still looking for her place in that dizzying world of catwalks and collaborations with brands and services. I was lucky to have her there in front of me, as has happened to me with so many girls that I later see on Instagram doing very good modeling jobs, earning their living. Good for them! Cheers!

I was born inland, at the exact equator of my long, thin island, but as soon as I saw the big blue, I knew I had to live near it. Sitting in front of the sea and having it pass through my senses is something indescribable: the sight, the sounds, the smells, the taste and the touch, nothing escapes, nothing can ignore the sea. That's why I return to the sea like those mammals did millions of years ago, I return to pay my debt and let it know that I am there, that I will never return inland again.

Enough of so much sun. Come for this strip of shade provided by the building next to the Church. I will now use the gold of the light as a complement, not as the protagonist. Here in the shadows I can illuminate you later. I rely on what they call "Dynamic Range" from my camera. I'm not afraid of this backlight, I'm afraid of a car jumping the sidewalk on this curve in the square, nothing more. This entire session is guaranteed success. The most fruitful five minutes I've ever had, after traveling twenty minutes round trip from where I was to where you were. But here we are, sheltered in the shade, let me do this last sequence, now that the breeze has recognized you and begins to play with your hair. Beautiful moment, Fabiana. Hello photography lovers! Quinceanera sessions are always a trial by fire. When clients want many changes of clothes, the day lengthens and sometimes we finish work at night. As we always have to have parents' time to carry out the work, I have almost never been able to take photos of clients outdoors at dusk, my favorite time. When the studio finishes the makeup part, we decide what outdoor tour we are going to do and it is almost always at noon, when the sun is relentlessly brightest and most burning. That's why in this sequence that I show you, we go out and take refuge in the shade of the palm trees to be able to compensate with the flash and be able to make correct exposures on my model. While there, a caravan of tourists arrived in classic cars and I took the opportunity to take some shots with the crowd and the cars in the background. The girl hardly laughs in the photos, but that is very normal nowadays, and I cannot spend all the time demanding that from her or from her parents who accompany us, so as not to strain the atmosphere and obstruct the dynamics of the moment. I was able to get the occasional smile from her during the day, don't have the slightest doubt about that! These photos do not have any editing yet, SooC!

I had a good outdoor session this Saturday morning with Yadi and her family. After a few stormy days, I was hoping to have some clouds to take away the burning influence of the sun, but apparently the clouds all went somewhere in the world: it was a splendid day, with a beautiful blue throughout the sky and lots of sun. So what we normally do is look for small shady spaces and take photos with the external flash at maximum power to compensate for the contrasts of each scene.
