An overdue IntroduceMyself

By @aaanderson12/2/2016introducemyself

I have been posting on Steemit for 2 weeks now and haven’t introduced myself, so for what it’s worth here we go:

I found Steemit while investigating using blockchain technology to pay artists and writers in advertising free ways. I was surprised and delighted to find that Steemit was already working on the problem. I was completely on-board when I started reading about VIVA and saw the active UBI discussions on Steemit.

My interests are broad and include: philosophy and all branches of humanities, technology, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and generally all things media. Right now I am focusing my energy on getting involved in the #philosophy channel. I hope to be a part of building a philosophical discussion space without all the fluff and flame warring of the big social media platforms. The #philosophy-review is the main part of that effort, but I will be posting my own philosophical thoughts as well.

Outside of Steemit I am a jack of all trades. I studied philosophy and history in college, library science in graduate school, and self taught in programming, Japanese, and dabble in many other fields. I am just starting to dip my toe into steem apps and APIs. I have some projects in mind to automate parts of my curation activities. I would love to get involved in open source projects related to Steem as well.

That’s my Steemit life so far, looking forward to diving deeper into the community!
